Snowman progress: preparing to shape.
I have found a very good fabric, I think. It looks good both with and without flash, it stretches nicely to conform to the shape of a body, and it is covered in sequins <3 The black sequins are on a sheer mesh, so it will be lined in green for that green-black sparkly effect.
Because I like making things hard for myself, I came up with an alternate (not better, just different) pattern for snowman. One that I think is a little more true to its 1920’s pseudo origins. Rather than using a knit to stretch around the body, this one is tailored to fit its curves. A solid green fabric overlaid with a black sheer, beaded in green and black would look more 20s than a knit anyway. The alternate design for the hem and slit placement would be more secure, and not prone to sliding open up the leg and showing more than intended, as the wrap-dress would be.
Open to opinions though on which is better, the first plan or this. Also whether to do back option a or b if I make this one.
ZippyC convinced me to finally make a Homestuck cosplay. I had never seriously considered it before, in spite of following the comic/game for quite a long time, because I am tall and curvy and not at all 12 looking. This limits my options to Troll ancestors, Rose’s mom, and the white and black queens.
Rather than wrap myself in a white bedsheet, or wear technicolor stripes, I opted for Snowman. Starting with her green dress, then probably moving on to her overcoat. This is the first design. More to come.
